Done racing for a bit
10 days, 8 races, fully gassed now. My results hit a plateau out here, but it was at least good to finish a couple of USA Crits races, and get in the money once, and feel like I got in some seriously good training. Speed Week was alright, but I definitely did not have the fitness to last the whole way through each 90 minute race. This week I was able to get into the mix when I had good legs and I was able to finish the races when I didn't. I am looking forward to a break and hopefully a big boost that comes with that rest.
Update: Last week, a guy promised me his prize money if I led out a local training crit for him. I didn't say a thing after the race, because I didn't really mind not getting the $25 he was taking home. But he bumped into us at the next couple of races and said it was on its way. I said, no problem man. But the next time I saw him at Hyde Park Blast he handed me a wad of money. I didn't count it - just stuffed it in my pocket... until later... and it turns out it was only $5. I wouldn't mind getting nothing - but if you say you are going to do something, you should just do it and fork it all over.
