Before Me Too

My dad recently posted some photos from before he was born of my Pop-Pop and Gramma Betty. This one is of my Grandfather when he was about my age. I can barely remember my Pop-Pop before his stroke when he would go into the closet to get toys, candy, and other fun things. The one thing I do clearly remember is getting my first bike from him and how it made motorcycle sounds. Needless to say it was the coolest thing on the planet. It makes me want to know all of my family more - to go back in a time machine and get all the good stories that need to be shared. I feel like I don't know my Pop-Pop nearly as well as I should. But when I hear my dad talk about him, it really just makes me think about what I would say about my dad. My dad talks about Pop-Pop spending time with him in the workshop, just bringing back old lawn mowers to tear apart for fun. It makes me think of solo trips with my dad to Ohio where he would listen to me endlessly go on about the new inventions of a 6 year old mind. I am sure they were not always coherent or well thought out, but the beauty of those trips is my dad made me feel like Thomas Edison.
